How to upgrade the Viseeo MB-3, MB-4 or MB-4+? Full instructions and Latest Updates

It is very easy to upgrade the software and firmware on your ViseeO hands free kit. The upgrade procedures is designed to support you while you are following the steps of the process. Before to begin the process it is necessary to read all the instruction on how to upgrade the device. To find the video on how to upgrade the device please Click here.

Compatible Product Model

The upgrade instructions are compatible for the next ViseeO models:

  • MB-3
  • MB-4
  • MB-4+

Kinds of Upgrades

For the ViseeO MB-3, MB-4 and MB-4+ there are 2 kinds of upgrades that applied

1.      According to the operation of the model an CPU software

2.      According to the phone compatibility Bluetooth firware (Usually not necessary)

Requirements to upgrade

Kinds of upgrades you can install to the device

CPU Software

  1. Computer with XP, Vista, Windows 7 and 8.
  2. USB 2.0 port.
  3. ViseeO Upgrade Cable for MB-3 (included in the package).
  4. ViseeO Upgrade Platform.
  5. ViseeO Upgrade Cable driver.
  6. MB-3 CPU software update.

Bluetooth Firmware

  1. Computer running XP, Vista, Windows 7 or 8.
  2. Built-in Bluetooth or external Bluetooth dongle.
  3. CK-5050+ Upgrade Platform.
  4. CK-5050+ software update.

Installing the CPU Upgrade Cable Driver

If your ViseeO upgrade cable is already installed please skip the section

Before you can use the ViseeO Upgrade Cable to upgrade CPU software your computer must recognize it first by installing the cable driver to it:

To upgrade the CPU software it is necessary that your computer would recognize the cable, after installing the ViseeO CPU Upgrade Cable Driver.

STEP 1:Download the CPU Upgrade Cable Driver

STEP 2: To install the correct driver according to your operating system unzip the file and double click, please use Windows 7 drivers for Windows 8

STEP 3:Plug the USB connector into your computer after the program is installed. A message “hardware found”  will be shown and Prolific USB-to-Serial Comm Port hardware will get automatically installed.

STEP 4:Follow the upgrade instructions after you remove the cable from the computer.

Download and Installing ViseeO Upgrade Platform

If your ViseeO upgrade cable is already installed please skip the section

STEP 1:Please download the ViseeO Upgrade Platform

STEP 2:To start the installation unzip the file and double click on ViseeoSetup.exe then follow the steps until you complete the installation. A short-cut icon will be created in your desktop named Viseeo Bluetooth Upgrade Platform

(Please check the software version on your device against the version number of the download
software before installation)

Installing the CPU Software Updates

How to install the CPU Software Updates

STEP 1: Plug the 10-pin connector into the CPU upgrade socket at the back of the MB-3. Make sure it is connected as the picture shown below. Gently plug the 10-pin connector into the CPU upgrade ports in the direction as shown.

STEP 1:at the back of the MB-3 you will find the CPU upgrade socket, there is where the 10-pin connector must be pludded.

STEP 2: Plug the USB connector into your computer.

STEP 2: the USB connector must be plugged into the computer.

Attention!! Please make sure you plug the 10-pin connector into MB-3 before you connect to your computer’s USB port.

it is very important to know that before to connect the device to the USB port of the computer the 10-pin must be plug into the MB-3

STEP 3: Double click the Viseeo Bluetooth Upgrade Platform icon on your desktop to open up the program.

STEP 3: to open up the program double click the ViseeO Bluetooth Upgrade Platform icon on your desktop.

STEP 4: Choose CPU and click Next to continue.

STEP 5: Click Search. The computer will automatically search if your upgrade cable is at the right COM port number.

STEP 6: Click Local to browse and choose the latest CPU software update (.bin format file) you have just downloaded.

STEP 7: Click Burn to begin upgrading your software. When the Status Bar reached 100%, a message indicating that “the CPU software has been upgraded successfully” will pop up. Press OK to close this message and then click Cancel to close the program.

Attention!! Please do not unplug the cable before you click the “OK” on the message window displaying the software update is successful.

Trouble Shooting!! If status bar does not progress at all or if you see the message showing “Progress….0% COM Port Timeout”please make sure that you have plugged the 10 pin connector of the ViseeO Upgrade Cable to the device first before you plug the USB connector to the computer port. Secondly, please make sure the COM Port for the ViseeO Upgrade Cable is between 2~7.

STEP 8: Unplug the USB from your computer first before you unplug the 10-pin connector from your MB-3. Now you are ready to take the MB-3 to your car for use.

NOTE: After you have updated the CPU software you must master reset the unit first and go through the pairing again. To master reset the unit please refers to the device User Instruction Manual Section 7.3 Factory Default setting (Master Reset) for further information.

Checking MB-3’s, MB-4’s or MB-4+’s Software & Firmware Version

Once update is completed the new software version number can be found on your device. You can check the version number in one of device’s OLED display menu items. To check the version number please refer to the device User Instruction Manual Section 7.4 Firmware Update and Version Check for further information.

    I just recently purchased the Viseeo MB4+ and installed into my C180, it installed and worked perfect the first time, I have a iPhone 6, now it decides when and if it is going to connect somedays I get in the car with out a problem it connects and works other days it won’t connect or work even when I manually force connection it refuses is this common as I have to admit I am desperately disappointed with my 350 dollar purchase as it’s basically useless for most of the time

    • Hi Paul, there is definitely a defect either in the unit or in the cars connection. I would suggest you to return the device and ask for another to try.
